Description An exercise in insanity. I just had to be crazy for a few days,
but the composition of this Seattle photo forced me to abandon all
my Zen studies and just get back to the '90 ~ paint-by-number w/c.
My intuitive work will now resume.

I realize this one is the most "realistic" of your works, but there is a compelling mood to it.

I'm about to bring it to Seattle and give it to my
son, who lives there. He doesn't pay much attention
to my work, but THIS piece, he simply went...GA GA!

THANKS so much...as always...

Well done.Β  Your painting style made this rather mundane cityscape worthy of admiration.

THANKS Myron...while this kind of laborious detailing
of elements is not my cup of tea, I just have to do it now
and then...and only scenes that have an interesting and
dynamic composition. I appreciate your kind and positive
words ~ and I DO accept any kind of negative criticism;
how else does one learn?

Your welcome, Dick.Β  I try in my work (water color) to loosen up but
get hung up on to much detail at times.
Best regards back, Myron

Unusual subject ugly city things but you made it look beautiful and interesting, like where are those two running too lol

richardcgreen In reply to SoulcolorsArt [2013-07-31 13:17:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's certainly not the city landscape that interests me.
I far more adore the country and mother nature. I saw a painting
in the Watercolor Artist magazine, and, using it as my
guiding star, I attempted to do something similar. I failed...and
did instead something like my own style. I prefer the monochromatic
version a bit better. And the mother and child running were NOT
there when I snapped the pic. But they could be running to catch
to ferry on Puget Sound, or hurrying to the Marine Aquarium, or...
it could very well remain a mystery. I prefer the last one... THANKS
so much...
Regards to you: DICK G

Its always better to do your own style, and you are very good at that

Yes, I find it virtually impossible
to copy another watercolorist's style...
exactly. We TAKE inspiration, and MAKE
it with our own instincts. I think. THANKS!!!!
