Hard to define. The paint, 12 years ago, just ran in that particular way...and I rather liked it.
I was just looking at the original painting, tucked away in the basement. THANKS so much for writing Anne.!!

Β Not very joyful.... A preamble to Christmas? ( Forgive me! I myself am rather melancholic...)

No, not joyful. But I never considered it to be a Humbug kind of animal.
Yes, Christmas can be rather disorienting to many....I just don't relate to all
Β the ridiculous spending...for WHAT earthly reason? Black Friday, what rot!
Course, a lot of businesses survive for all the spending at this time of year.

Well, thanks for writing...don't be too sad, Claire!!!
Hope that hug helps...

THANKS Verod!! Funny how the paint (at least 12 years ago)
ran around the dry paper and rather formed this snail-like creature.
It's all in the runs....

I appreciate your support...

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a snail. I don't think I'd be happy around a lot of them.
Anyway....it's gray and gloomy here, typical of the early winter. May hit 40ΒΊF tomorrow...and SUNNY!

THANKS for the FAVE Trish...Β

Not so sure I'd want to. Funny, I thought they'd be around the beach, ocean, etc etc.

Oh, ya. WOW, they are kind of a cool animal. Do they eat leaves,?
Like vegetarians, or ... What are those creatures that suck up to the side of
home aquariums??? Are those snails too?

THANKS Trish.....

TriciaS In reply to richardcgreen [2015-12-03 18:28:44 +0000 UTC]

Yep !!!They eat leaves....They are terrible if you have alot ...Slugs ...and snails are pains really....Nothing really kills them or deters them except birds, and hedgehogs who love to eat them.So the best thing is to have them in your garden!!
We had a tiny catfish in our freshwater tank of fish to keep it clean but there are watersnails which clean debris up too. Here's a slug (same family)Without a shell.
I'don't like slugs so much..Both them and snails secrete sticky gunge out of their bodies and leave silver streaks and just eatand eat and eat. When I had all the baby snails in my green bin which is collected weekly and has garden refuse in.it.I left them in and they went with the garden rubbish and would end up as manure on sale for your garden!! Here's a slug eating cat treats...as well as leaves!!!

I continue to wonder WHY I have never seen there creatures, in any place I've ever lived.
What does your climate or surroundings have that we don't? Just curious....THANKS much for
the photo and everything.

Just lots of damp ground which they love....and not much heat which would dry them up!!

Now, I understand. Rather, mid-continent. Do they survive
your winters? I'm pretty sure they're not as severe as ours.

THANKS for writing Trish...
