Oh yeah, definitely. There are probably at least 4 tones of warm grays across Illyana's skin tones in this card, for example. I start light and work dark, usually.

oh.... i never thought it would be that many tones.... does it not ruin the paper and the inks?? I'm having problems with the inks bleeding when I hit them with the copics... Hehehe.. sorry for the long reply...just getting the hang of copics... what type of paper do you use??... Thanks for replying...

Yeah, I used to use Pitt pens, but ran into the same bleeding problem. So I switched to copic multiliners. They're more expensive, but are refillable, have replaceable tips (I'm very hard on pens and brushes), and most importantly do not bleed when markers run over them.
For large pieces, I use a 300 series bristol board, and for sketch cards also 300 series, but in the pre-cut packs. I've found that copics tend to bleed through board, not so much out to the sides. I always have a scrap piece of bristol under my work when coloring/shading.
Hope this is helpful?

You're not rude, and that's kind of you to say Kaitlin. I'm glad I could help.

Yup.... It is very helpful information... Now at least I know what to look for... In terms of paper and pens... Now all i have to look for are the bristol boards... They are hard to come by here in Cebu, Philippines. I'm currently using inkjet right paper now. Anyway thank you for the information and thanks also for the reply... Hoping to get better... Thanks..

Have you tried ordering online? Say DickBlick ([link] )? They have a decent selection of boards here ([link] ).
Yeah, markers will eat right through paper like nobody's business.

I like how, when the cool and warm grays are used next to each other, the cool grays take on a bluish tone.

This reminds me of a pose I did for my character one year. This is like 10 times better than mine because it's so natural and flowing.
Gotta love a girl with a big axe. Lovely!
