Simply trying to touch the edge of the leaf. Similar to the way a cat might try to playfully paw at something in the air.

This ones amazing
did you use smudging? and was gouache used watery? (never used gouache)

No smudging, all layering of graphite with the point of the pencil. The gouache was only a little wet when I needed bright whites and more saturated with water when I needed more of a wash.

so amazing, i love her legs, the light on them and everything, and her toes bent up a little as she reaches ^^ so nice

At first glance I thought this was a photo.
The pose makes me actually feel as if the girl was very high in the air but there is nothing in the picture to make you think that but the pose itself.

The dark outline on her right leg however bugs me and looks a little flat, otherwise this is incredible.

The model is actually my wife. I made her fall off the bed a bunch so that's real stress you see on the toes. This drawing was all about reaching for that touch even though it may make you fall in the process.
