Description

Can't forget an updated Hathor and Sekhemt! Actually it used to just be Hathor, but I like making twins, so here they are and better than ever!

Like with Esraa, I may have accidentally left out some details or some things may not make sense. Towards the end of both profiles I was getting antsy and rushed a bit;;;

EDIT: So I realized that even though they're twins I gave them different birthdays orz. From now on these birthdays will be purely symbolic since ancient Egyptians didn't have zodiacs like we do now.

P e r s o n a l i t y ;

Hathor:

She is confident and friendly, finding it very easy to socialize and make friends quickly. Hathor tends to be a flirt and has no fear when pursuing a potential love interest. Hathor often lacks tact and can accidentally her the feelings of others. Hathor has a loyalty that knows no bounds. She will defend her loved ones with everything she’s got.

She tends to be a perfectionist in the worst of ways, and this trait show especially in her dancing. It’s the same when she’s practicing her spells. She’s so stubborn that she will practice and practice until she’s doing the dance/spells even in her dreams. Her stubbornness also spills over into her belief that everyone has good in them and she won’t deem anyone evil until they’ve done something irreversible.

Sekhmet:

She is an introverted, but the true personality that comes forth around those she’s comfortable with is that of a rational and, unfortunately, a highly critical person. Sekhmet says she is critical for the sake of others, but that never makes hearing her harsh criticisms any better. She also tends to be rather aloof and comes off as uncaring about most things, but this could not be farther from the truth.

Like her sister, Sekhmet is fiercely loyal to friends and loved-ones. Hurt someone she loves, and you may find yourself on the receiving end of a deadly spell or poison. She’s not all criticism and aggression- Sekhmet is capable of being kind and considerate, but this is only seen by those she is closet to.

Interests: Dancing | Creating poisons and antidotes (Both are interested/highly versed in magic)
Likes: Kohl (Cosmetics), Children, the gemstones Turquoise and Malachite, Pulling pranks with Mana | Beer stained red with pomegranate juice, Peace and quiet so she can get work done
Dislikes: When things are too quiet or dreary, when adults are unkind to children | When her sister is off pulling pranks, those who don’t uphold Ma’at (injustice and evil)
Quirks: Will dance/skip to her destination | Has a cute, tiny kitten sneeze

| Background

H i s t o r y O u t l i n e ;

Age 8: Both Hathor and Sekhmet begin to study spells following in their parent’s footsteps.
Age 10: They start to realize their talents for certain kinds of spells.

    -      Hathor discovers she has a knack for defensive spells, like barriers. Sekhmet discovers her knack for offensive and healing spells.

    -      Both befriend fellow apprentice, Mahad.

Age 13: Sekhmet begins an official apprenticeship under the kingdom’s best doctor. They also teach her to make various poisons and antidotes.
Age 14: Hathor decides to become a dancer alongside continuing her magician training.
Age 16: Hathor begins to incorporate spells into the dance routines. Mostly what you’d call “aesthetic” spells that don’t have any effects other than looking pretty.

    -      The twins both officially end their apprenticeships and are now recognized as full-fledged spellcasters. Sekhmet also officially becomes a doctor.

Age 18: The twins befriend Mana after she becomes Mahad’s apprentice and treat her like a younger sister.
Age 19: After being turned down many times, Hathor’s affections are finally returned by Mahad.
Age 21: Hathor is killed while defending Sekhmet from an oncoming attack by Zorc, the ankh she wears getting destroyed in the process. Sekhmet, after only having moments to mourn, makes a last stand against Zorc  and loses her life, also. Her ankh remains intact and both her soul and Hathor’s reside within it where it stays buried in the Egyptian sands until it is discovered thousands of years later.

| Extra Information

Q u o t e s ;

Hathor:

“Helping Mana with her pranks is how I unwind from all of my extreme dance practice! Don’t worry, I always make sure they’re mostly harmless!” (Said to Mahad after he chastised her for aiding Mana with her pranks for the first time)

“I wanted to try trading places with my sister just for a day, but then she reminded me that our eyes are different colors and that it would never work.”

“…Why? Why did he let us come with him? Mana and I…could have helped him! We could have protected him! I could have…with my spells I could have…helped. Why…”

“He keeps rejecting my feelings because he’s ‘too busy with his duties to the Pharaoh’, but he always hesitates when he says that. I know he’s hiding how he really feels. Someday he’ll return my feelings. And if he doesn’t…I’ll die sad and alone!!”

“Sister… I couldn’t protect you either. At the end of it all I was totally useless, wasn’t I? Sorry…”

“Wait, you can’t dance?! Let me take over and I’ll make you a superstar!”

“Go on! Tell him how you feel! The worst that could happen is that you go on being friends. …Or it could ruin things completely! Sorry…I’m not helping, am I?”

Sekhmet:

“Do you mind? I want to study in silence and your constant blathering is getting on my last nerve.” (Said to Mana)

“I don’t want to hear about how anyone was merely being ‘used’ by the shadows. They chose the darkness. They chose to walk the path of evil. I can’t forgive anyone who goes against justice.”

“You’ll die alone? Nice to know your own twin means absolutely nothing to you. Also, don’t push too hard, or you’ll push him away completely.”

“No, don’t be sorry. All of us are useless in this situation. Only the chosen Pharaoh can put a stop to this. However, that does not mean I’m letting your death be in vain. I will make one final stand against the darkness! I join you soon…dear sister.”

“You’re just like Hathor- absolutely no tact. If you’re going to have such an important conversation you should let me speak for you.”

“Sorry about scaring your classmates like that. I suppose red eyes really aren’t all that common…or normal. Oh, it was my attitude? Sorry..”

“Hathor and I have been talking and we both agree that you should go nowhere near that Bakura. We know what’s in that ring. You can’t trust him.”

T r i v i a ;

- Hathor first confessed to Mahad when she was 15. He continued to turn her away and deny his own feelings until he simply couldn’t anymore. It helped that Hathor proved how independent she could be and wouldn’t need Mahad’s attention 24/7. Despite how busy they kept themselves they still have a functional and healthy relationship.

- Sekhmet was constantly chastising Mana, even more so than Mahad, but despite that she really did care for her like a younger sister. She even offered to teach Mana healing spells on her own time, but they proved too difficult for Mana to handle.

- Hathor did know some minor healing magic, but it was only enough for small scrapes and bruises.

- Sekhmet used two Ka spirits: White Magician Pikeru and Ebon Magician Curran. Both representing her dual nature as “The Lady of Benevolence” and “The Lady of Pestilence”.

- Hathor’s Ka spirit was Mei-Kou, Master of Barriers. Normally as a woman she would have a female Ka, as a Ka reflects the soul; however, this idea is based of the fact that the real goddess Hathor was one of the only deities to have both male and female priests. I wanted to add something to her character to represent that fact.

- Both of them had a rather difficult time adjusting to the modern world. Having them learn different languages was even harder. They learned a decent amount of Egyptian Arabic, Japanese, and some basic English. They often get modern Egyptian and ancient Egyptian mixed up.

- Despite having their memories intact, the one thing they couldn’t remember was Atem’s name.

Wow! There is a lot of detail in the written bio on both of your OCs here. I really like how there are differences between their personalities and outfits. The long hairstyle and the colors look very well done!
