Description Hailing from the planet Kree-Lar, Captain Mar-Vell (or Pluskommander Mahr Vehl since it's Ultimate Universe) was a soldier of the Kree Military, known for his combat expertise and his odd sense of conscience (which had him "dallying with subordinates"); making him a mixed subject to his superior officers. The day his bravery has shined happened in thwarting an assassination attempt by saboteurs on the Supreme Intelligence.

For that act of service, the Captain was subjected to what was believed to be the Kree Culture's ancient equivalent of "The Super-Soldier Program": the Nega-Bands, golden bracelets forged from their archaic past, made out of an ore that serves as a conduit to the Negative Zone. Once branded, they remain attached to the wearer; and in return, the gift of harnessing the Negative Zone's energy for physiology augmentation.

After the branding, and basic familiarization with the bands, he was reassigned to a new military faction that was tasked to scout the planet Earth; consisting of his new superior officer Yon-Rogg (I cannot tell whether it should be Colonel or Admiral, depending on whether it's the Military Forces or the Interstellar Navy), and the team's medic Una (who would develop feelings for the Captain and vice-versa). The purpose of the mission: studying the planet's defenses for interplanetary conquest and advantage against the Skrulls, their oldest enemies. There, he was stationed as a spy on Earth, assuming the identity of the astrophysist Dr. Walter Lawson, and remained on the blue planet for four-to-five years.

However, in the years he spent on Earth, Mar-Vell/Mahr Vehl reconsidered, if not changed, his allegiance because of the planet's beauty and its people for the bravery that rivals their own. Alas, the growing attachment was seen as a weakness that Yon-Rogg must report, not helped that he held unrequited feelings towards Una; and in an effort/scheme to covert the medic for himself, she was killed instead of Mar-Vell. Enraged, he swore revenge upon Yon-Rogg; though the conscience that has once got him in trouble for saving lower-ranking officers has forced him to abandon his life as Mar-Vell/Mahr Vehl (most likely: obscuring communications with the Kree; darkest likelihood that might not be for the best: kill his own crewmates). In the remaining years on Earth as "Dr. Walter Lawson", he secretly aided S.H.I.E.L.D. in preparing for the Skrulls' attacks.

Alas, with the Skrulls' "Secret Invasion" thwarted by the Ultimates (instead of jackasses, they are people with problems who really are heroes), then came the Kree Empire through their Starforce Division; on the hunt for the traitor, and wanting to claim Earth for colonization. It was in this conflict, where "Dr. Lawson" has become..."Captain Marvel, Protector of Earth".

Had quite a blast in recontextualizing the life of Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell/Mahr Vehl) in the 21st Century.

Design-Wise, the alien design of Mahr Vehl's armor (especially in the transformation sequence) was used as the basis for the classic Mar-Vell's appearance. The power of the Nega-Bands work similarly to the actual version, though in a lesser capacity due to the grounded nature of the reimagined Ultimate Universe. And in case one would be interested in a more classic take, an image link to the pink-skin variation will be provided.
