Personality: Ives is by no manner a people person, but not for lack of ever trying. Unfortunately, he simply doesn't understand how to interact with others and it's resulted in him becoming naturally more standoffish. He's a naturally curious and intelligent person and loves figuring out how things work, although he doesn't believe he is intelligent.

History: Born to a large family of farmers and hunters, Ives was raised under the expectations to be one of the herd, master of a bow and expert with a green thumb. However, it became immediately apparent as Ives aged that he was capable of neither of these things. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn door with a bow and couldn't seem to identify a single seedling by it's leaves! The last thing his parents needed was to have one of their other six children get hit during hunting or to have Ives remove all the crops from a new field instead of the weeds. Assuming this was an issue with his intelligence rather than with his eyes, the family kept him separate and busy with hobbies like music and horse care while they decided what to do with him. At twelve, they sent him out to look for one of their missing horses and, upon getting hopelessly lost for days, stumbled upon a small ruin. Curiosity getting the better of him, he decided to continue exploring rather than attempt to return home. He never did find that horse, but he honestly wasn't so sure that one of his family's horses had really been missing to begin with.
