The Yliaster stars faces off against the 5D’s dragons in the final battle of the World Soccer Grand Prix.

In the Yugioh world, card games are a major spectator sport, much like soccer or basketball is to us. Thus the Yliaster arc can be summed up with ” The last suvivors of humankind, form a sports team and travel to the past to participate in a championship tournament.”

Essentially, card games can be swapped out for any major sport, be it soccer, wrestling or curling. The story would more or less remain the same.
