Description Oh my god, it's a fanart!! Never thought this would happen one day I hardly draw fanart because I never really get the urge to do so... However, I need to polish my portrait-drawing skills and I've wanted to draw fanart (of Criminal Minds) for some time now, so here it is. It's Dr. Spencer Reid (played by Matthew Gray Gubler)! I'll draw more of him and the rest of the team in the future :3
And in case you're wondering why this drawing looks so messy, I'm currently experimenting with different drawing techniques.

Feedback is greatly apprechiated, as always

Thank you very much!

(Aww. Do they air it where you are, or is it something else? We're having reruns of old seasons here, but they stopped at season 7. )

They have re-runs sometimes, but I think it's generally on weekdays when I'm at work. The new series doesn't start until next year.

Aww, that's a shame they stopped at season 7.

That's... not nice.

It is. But I think they might air season 8 when the new one starts in the States.

I wish we could watch the series at the same time as the US gets it!

Yesss. There's no chance of that happening here though, since they have to do a German dub first. I love watching the series in English, but I can only do that if I buy the DVDs which only appear another half year after the season ended.

I shall draw some more fanart to help us get over our misery.

Added it to my to-draw list.
Other stuff on that list, fanart wise: Les MisΓ©rables, Sherlock, Supernatural, Merlin, Game of Thrones.
Other other stuff on that list: "Shakespeare Illustration Project" (sounds fancy, right ), gifts for friends, my OCs who I love dearly but don't draw often enough, "Musically Inspired" Contest entry

Ooh, that is one awesome list!

I'm so sad I don't get to watch Game of Thrones on TV. I keep wondering whether to buy the box-set, but it's kind of expensive.

I've heard people say that Sherlock and Merlin are both good as well. I tried watching a bit of Sherlock once, but couldn't get into it... British drama has never really been my thing. Benedict Cumberbatch is all kinds of awesome though!

That does sounds fancy! Β

I didn't see any of the series, I only read the first book, but I'm pretty hooked.
They are good I think, I have both seasons of Sherlock and rewatched them recently. As for Merlin, well I'm a fan of the Arthurian legend but what intrigued me about the show was the main character Merlin. The actor has a pretty unique face, and I love to draw such faces...
He is! I love his voice to the point that I couldn't watch Sherlock and Star Trek in German because the dub just didn't come close to his awesome voice.

Hehe.

Ah, well I've only seen the first series on TV because they showed re-runs on a different channel. As for the books, I keep meaning to read them! My sister has the box-set, but other books keep sneaking their way to the top of my to-read list instead.

Ooh, I know exactly what you mean about unique faces! The actor who plays Merlin certainly has an interesting face, as does Benedict. I can imagine as an artist that they're really fun to draw.

Haha! And oh, that reminds me, I haven't seen Star Trek: Into Darkness yet.

They are very well written. Which are the top ones right now?

Yes, they both have so fascinating, unique coughbeautifulcough faces! They will be pretty frustrating to draw (you have no idea what I went through with Reid), but sooo much fun!

It's pretty heavy on the action, but I loved it nevertheless. Benedict is absolutely amazing in his role!

Well I've just started Wool by Hugh Howey, and after that I've got three more library books to read: The Rapture (Liz Jensen), Christine (Stephen King) and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Ransom Riggs). I think I'll probably read Miss Peregrine's... after I finish Wool because I've borrowed it on my new eReader, so I think I have less time to read it.Β

How about you?

I know! The great thing is that, as well as being beautiful, they're so memorable. There are lots of pretty boys whose faces you just instantly forget because although they're attractive enough, nothing about their features really stands out.Β

'Challenging, but fun' is good!

It did look really good. I'll definitely watch it at some point!

Sounds great!
Starting Gatsby soon, and then I'll read either A Tale of Two Cities (Dickens) or The Old Man and the Sea, I haven't decided yet. The everpresent Shakespeare will be The Merchant of Venice this time. I need something lighter after Lear.

Indeed! That's so true.
Yes.

I dare say you have to.

Oh, nice! I haven't read that much of Dickens' work, although I have been meaning to; I've only read Oliver Twist (which was years ago, at school).

Haha, yes!

Nice! I like the hair and messy quality of the background.
However, I do think the shading could be a bit smoother on his face. The areas shaded are good, but the lighter areas aren't as light as they should be.
But otherwise, I really like this piece! Those eyes are fantastic!
