I love this series and I like their fairly realistic clothes. But there are two thing where it doesn't seem quite so accurate. First, Thors hammer have a special story of its creation, where it's a specific point that the handle turned out especially short. Yours is quite the opposite.
And secondly, your version of Hel I don't find as good as the others. Her anatomy looks a bit weird and confusing, especially her upturned arm.
Her clothes add to the confusing, what with there being much of it and it's very flowing, making it harder for the eye to see what's going on. Her clothes isn't that authentic compared to the others, either. She is of course the goddess of death, she doesn't need to be so founded in being realistic. I hope you don't take offence at my words, I really like your other drawings of Norse Mythology.

I agree with you on this rendition of Mjolnir. The stores that I've read of the creation of the Mjolnir state that the handle is so short that Thor has to wear a special mitt/gauntlet to catch it, otherwise it would burn his hand due to the heat the head of the hammer accumulates after being thrown and striking with the power of a lighting bolt.
However, I cannot dispute the skill it took to make this rendition! Excellently executed.

I know that Thor is typically described/portrayed as having red hair, but I've always wondered, where exactly does that description come from? Is it mentioned in the Eddas or any other Medieval poetry, or was it added in later centuries?

You have to remember that blonde was kinda associated with aristocrats (hence why all the princesses in the fairytales have "golden hair") and this guy used to be the favorite of the regular peasants.
Also, the further up north youb go, the more blonde becomes... rather boring (untill you hit finland, but they have a different culture all-together), and the gods are supposed to be speshul~~ and magickal~~ Hence, red hair XD

Well, I understand the peasant viewpoint on Thor, but Scandinavia does have a higher proportion of natural blondes than almost anywhere else in the world. I know in mainland Europe blonde hair was considered highly desirable during the Middle Ages, but because the trait was more widespread in the Nordic countries, did the same conventions apply?
