Umm...I think I can explain ^w^ Allen was originally called "Red" because he really had no name or past, and he was constantly beaten by the people of the curcius he travelled with...his only friend was a dog named Allen. When the dog died, "Red" met Mana and after Red yelled at Mana's silly clown antics for a while, he finally broke down crying, mourning the loss for his friend. I suppose he took the dog's name to honor his friend's memory, and I believe Mana started looking after him after that...I hope my nerdy explaination helped =w='''
