Description New project from this art semester. Since i haven't uploaded anything in a while, might as well show what i am cooking..

WIP still, but soon to fish, minor detail work.
===========================================
Update.... Stolen... if there is any optimism about this, the chair is in some ones living room, and not a dumpster

Is it weird that I've had nightmares of this particular chair..? O.o; It's very beautiful work though.. Looks like the start of a skirt hear the back of the seat.. no?

very cool idea! I saw that you requested a critique- and I have to ask: are the boards being used to keep the "mouth" open going to be part of the finished piece? If so- I think you really need to beat the crap out of the wood and distress it. I think it should look more like its frayed (I'd say the same with the teeth- only because they look too carved, and not all monster like)

I understand this is a WIP- but I feel like the top teeth and the bottom teeth dont "match" the bottom are very jagged and not straight at all- while the top (especially the front 5) are at the same angle. I think they need to protrude a little bit more.

Pretty awesome so far! Keep it up- cant wait to see it finished!

yea the 2x4 on the side are mostly for support, i was planning on trying to add more detail work around to make to make it look more organic, as to make it look like tension muscles in the side of the mouth, I will probably just go over with a grinder and shape the beams down a bit, to either round or more jagged. And thanks for the teeth, i will probably end up take them down, and put an angle to it.

I will show more once is finished

That would be so cool. Neat source of income, too! Look for chairs by dumpsters around apartment complexes or college dorms, even on the curbside on trash pickup days.
