Description I read the Hobbit in fourth grade; I remember quite clearly being in Middle Earth, completely forgetting the noisy bus around me, each morning and afternoon. Thranduil was one of, I thought, the most mysterious characters - and one of my favourites.

I wanted to quickly sketch down how I imagined him looking before the movie version (which is completely and utterly rocking and better than anything I ever imagined) completely takes over.

You gave Thranduil, Elvenking of Mirkwood and Bad-ass dad of Legolas the Great, a Flower Crown (even though he quite literally had one in the movie)?! You noticed the hair! /cartwheels for joy
I was really going outside my comfort zone and putting lots of different colours in there, I'm unspeakably glad it shows

Actually, I drove myself a bit crazy there - I spent ages lining it neatly and digitally, only to reinsert the sketch over the entire thing /dies

Yes! It looks wonderful and I think it really paid off!
It adds a really lovely warmth to his hair (:

Ah, well I personally think the sketchy light line weight in some places and the cleaning heavy line weight in the other looks quite nice (:
Adds a really interesting definition to the flowers.
