Description
…there was a boy named Wynter with one silver and one golden eye, whose father was a rich plastical surgeon. Wynter was spoiled and arrogant, without real friends and fighting his parents whenever he could. One evening, when he was grounded again for some trouble he started, he heard strange noises from the library in his parent’s mansion. Being curious he went to see what caused the ruckus, and found two fighting men in armor in his 21st century home and before he could wrap his head around what was happening, one of the men grabbed the boy and used him like a shield. Kicking him against the shin did the simple trick to be dropped, but he fell against the antique mirror his mother was so proud of and was ready for shattering it…but instead he fell right through the glass into another world were knights, dragons and castles were normality. Without the hope of ever being able to return, Wynter hesitantly accepted his fate and became a dragon fighter. The only human amongst men and women able to shift into dragons, joining their fight against powerful wizards for freedom from century long slavery, abuse and torture. Falling in love had never been an option, but one of the two men from his home, Kayden, won the heart of the still often precocious young man who became one of the most skilled and dangerous fighters among the rebels. From being mocked for being only a human child, he became Wynter, a legend among dragons and the one who they all hope would fulfil one day the prophecy of the fighter with one silver and one golden eye who would bring freedom for them all.
Thinking about the story of his still young life, Wynter looked into Kayden’s fiery eyes, looking deep into his soul. There were no words for what he felt in moments like this, before an attack and the hope for victory. He was nervous, but he never showed it to anyone but Kayden. Nervous because every fight could mean to never see his dragon again, never feel him again, never taste him again. Kayden’s smile was soothing, but he saw in his eyes that he was equally nervous. No matter how courageous, skilled or strong they both were, the fear of losing their other half was all they both felt in moments like this, moments before Kayden would drop his armor and shift into the beautiful black dragon that he was. They kissed softly, like a whispered promise and Wynter smirked looking up to Kayden with a smirk, hiding his own fear.
“Go get ‘em, tiger.” he said, causing Kayden to tilt his head.
“What in Draig’s name is a tiger?” the dragon asked with his deep, velvety voice.
Wynter laughed. “I’ll tell ya when you’re back.”
Kayden started to undress, and when he stood naked in front of his love, ready to let his magic shift him into the scaled beast he was, he said: “I love you.”
Wynter nodded. “Just like I love you.”
Looking deep into each other’s eyes the shift happened and Kayden let out a scream when his impressive wings lifted him into the sky. Wynter watched him fly away before he turned to his horse and started to follow him on the ground, and suddenly the awareness hit him that something was different today.
Something was wrong…
