Description
A custom Republic Commando helmet I've painted up and modified to be the bucket for my Merc/Bounty Hunter character.In the background: A work in progress of the chest armor for this costume.

This is too cool. How did you make it? Did you just paint up and modify a toy or did you make one from scratch like a pepakura?

An online friend of mine had built up a Republic Commando helmet using schematic printouts on card stock paper and doing the cut/fold/glue method. He used resin and bondo and built up his helmet to perfection and was offering to make castings of his helmet so I took him up on the offer. Mine came in the mail, all one piece and I had to use my dremel to drill out the visor and neck of the helmet. Then I sanded it to perfection and hand painted all the details to give it some nice weathering. Next I cut out of a motorcycle helmet visor and screwed it into my helmet and then added electro-luminescant wire on the inside of it to give it a glow. It still doesn't have the voice amplifier and cooling fans in it yet, which I will do eventually and possibly add an antennae and some nice mic/speaker tips to the front of the helmet. Thanks for the info. Some of my irl friends and I have begun dabbling in pepakura and we love star wars so this really caught my eye.
