Who here, has seen the Universal Studios movie: Balto? Believe me, I have and I own the first, second and third movies and if you remember from the opening of the movie when the young girl and her Grandmother are walking through New York's Central Park in search for something that holds a place in the Grandmother's heart as something special to her.

And after you have sat through this courageous story of heoricness of a Husky who managed to race through a storm that forced several other forms of transportation to get medicine to the small town of Nome, Alaska to save those who had been stricken with Diptheria. This statue was erected to this heroic dog.

You can find this deep within the heart of Central Park, but here's a bit of advice, go to the Central Park Children's Zoo and get a small little Map from someone working there to find the various parts of the Park because Central Park is HUGE! From a Merry Go Round, small locations where the movie Home Alone 2 and You've Got Mail were filmed, to a statue Alice in Wonderland along with several other things you can discover while working it over.

This is was one thing I really wanted to see while walking through the Park....I truly admire this statue.
