Srikandi Folding Bow WIPType: Split Limb Twin Cam Compound Bow
After better understanding the tool in Google SketchUp. I'm redesigning the Srikandi folding bow.
I don't understand well enough the system of inter connecting wire in compound bow. I'm not quite sure I draw the cam right. I'll try finding a good reference.

I only find 1 issue with the concept: The joints that fold inward (the big "S" joints) would need some sort of strong mechanism to prevent it from collapsing when pulling for the arrow. other than that, i think this build is workable

I have the skills and I want to make one... but I can't seem to find the right materials at decent costs around cinci.... I might be able to make the entire thing out of wood but i'd have to borrow someones shop to do it... idk

It's posible made it from wood.
but Compound bow are known for the stress the bow put into the component at drawing cycle. Standard wood mostly break during the process.

after doing some test I have only found 3 type of wood that would work and only as a layered composite (under tensions described). Unfortunately I do not have the funds at the time to tackle this at this time... sorry

its good to see a change form car/spaceships to some weaponry, the sketch-up group needs some variety
Since im more into sci-fi modeling myself i dont have much to say other than the actual "string", so having 3 means im able to pull of a legolas move of shooting 3 arrow? ofc i even dont know how the modern bow work, wiki should help. (he doesnt do that but well i like elf archers 
Aside from concept, maybe you could include some textures or add this to a character of yours, or even have a set of it with sword or a dagger, all long range is not so good

This Bow still work in progress. I Haven't even decide what color should I use, that's why I use solid color instead of texture to keep the file size small.
This Bow is one of several equipment of a character that still in concept stage along with other equipment.
