Concept art for Gervin, a Pitbull character.

Gervin grew up in South Central Los Angeles. He works as a guard dog for a mechcanic garage. Being a Pitbull he often fears being stolen and sold for dog fighting.

Despite his rough and by-the-book demeanor, Gervin does care for those he loves and takes his job seriously. He does have a short temper but is loyal to a fault. Living on the streets the first 2 years of his life did leave him bitter at one point.

His appearence and voice often intimidates other dogs. Gervin is the father of another one of my characters, Morris who followed in his footsteps and became a guard dog but was later stolen for street fights.

He has ties to a group of Street dogs in Compton called The Southside Strays who saved his life during the L.A. riots.

I loosely based Gervin on Michael Clarke Duncan. Big intimedating figure but also a gentle giant.

Gervin is a Razor's Edge Pitbull, a line that is more common in conformation dog shows and as pets than anything else.
