Description Here we have a shot of a BR Standard Jiny "47324" and No. 15 "Earl David" tank engine double heading out of Ramsbottom Station to Rawtenstall at the East Lancashire Railway Autumn Gala.

TTTE Thomas the Tank Engine. Its a old british kids show that got me into trains in the first place

I was discussing this with Rob earlier- considering its a massive railway, lots of land for developement, money for extensions etc, big diesel fleets, its surprising then that the only steamers they have and which are actually owned by them can compare poorly to start-up railways that go about half a mile

I can assure you, the ELR does not have a lot of money
Also, the ELR itself only owns two steam locos at present. No 32 "Gothenburg" and the Crab.

It does appear to be a railway overstretching itself... rather than sorting a loco fleet, it seems to enjoy extending itself, building new bits of lines and things... Reminds me of the WHR at present- all about extending the railway, but theyve got only one working steamer at the moment, only three mainline locos in good nick, portacabin stations, and basic infrastructure. It looks like a railway overdoing and rushing things really
