Had an idea for a world wherein the plate tectonics acted in such a way that the terrain of the planet was mostly mountainous with hot gas vents. I figured the people of that world would have developed air travel before the internal combustion engine by observing the effect of the hot air vents on drifting plant life. This is supposed to be something like an old photo from the equivalent of their Victorian era of some airship docks. Kinda steampunk-ish, maybe.
