Description And now, here she is, the newest heroine to carry the mantle of the avatar of peace:  Dawn Granger, AKA Dove!!!

Dawn Granger is Holly Granger's younger half-sister, born 2 years after Holly was, but in America rather than in England, to an American father and their same Scottish mother.  When Dawn was only 13 years old, she was with her parents when a terrorist group known as Diablo came in and started to demand that the people cooperate or die.  Dawn's father, a red blooded American, stood up, but was shot to death.  Seeing this, Dawn's powers, previously belonging to Don Hall, awakened, and she became Dove for the first time.  She used her powers and what basic martial art skills she had acquired as a kid to take down the thugs, and avenge her father's death.

A year later, Dawn met her older British half-sister, Holly, who also gained incredible superpowers, and Dawn insisted they become superheroes, so that no more innocent people would have to die.  Holly naturally just went along for the ride, given that she was less high maintenence and more lax than her younger sister.  Thus the two became Hawk and Dove!  Yet Holly insisted, much to Dawn's protests, that they learn to control their powers.  Thus the two sisters are now part of the newest incarnation of the Teen Titans!

Dawn is way more high maintenence than Holly is, and not as laid back.  However, she's still just as classy and well educated, since their mother taught them both to be very ladylike and appropriate.  Dawn, however, is not as on par as Holly is, and looks to her for guidance.  So the two sisters are very close to one another.  Dawn has no accent, unlike her sister, and often guzzles down coffee in the morning like there's no tomorrow.  However, she is more timid and always wants to resort to diplomacy first.  She's also very self-conscious about her looks, always trying to not gain anymore weight.

Since I never read any of the comics with Dawn Granger as Dove, this is simply my take on her.  She's by all means, not always chasing the boys, and focuses just as much on her grades as well as her time socializing.

Disclaimer:  Dove belongs to DC Comics, Steve Ditko & Steve Skeates.

Ok, thanks. Now could you please tell me what about this version of Dove you like? Thank you.

And there's Dawn, and she looks great. I like your take on how she and Holly are related. It's a lot better than the "separated at birth, and never told about it" bullshit from the comics. As for her self-conscious views about look, I assume that's why she's showing a bit of skin (as compared to Holly's more conservative outfit). I also like that you have her not really being interested in "chasing the boys". Who knows, she could be an 'in the dark lesbian' (AKA, she could show signs of being gay, but she herself wouldn't be consciously aware of it until later).

Thanks as always! You know, I was so tempted to have Dawn show off her legs as well, but I just stuck with the blue leggings. Although she does show off her cleavage for attracting some of the boys. I'm thinking of hooking her up with Young Frankenstein as well, as an homage to how she had a bit of a relationship with Deadman in the comics, but I think the 'in the dark lesbian' idea could be interesting to see being played out.

Based on how you have Dawn as a high maintenance person, there is someone in your Titans roster who could work well with her (if she is an 'in the dark lesbian'). That person, is Cissie King Jones. Compared to the other girls, Cissie knows how to work with high maintenance people to a much greater degree, because she's grown up with one of the most high maintenance persons out there............. Her mother, Bonnie King! Anyone who's read the Young Justice comics knows exactly how high maintenance Bonnie King can be. Having dealt with her mother for so long, Cissie would just have more patience than the others when it comes to working with high maintenance people like Dawn. Plus, it's also cool seeing couples where one character has powers, and the other doesn't (like Kori and Richard, or Donna and Roy).

Ooh, you've got a good point there. I know just how high maintenance Bonnie King could be in the comics. If that would be so, then I can definitely see a lesbian romance between Cissie and Dawn! After all, they didn't show Cissie being in a relationship with anyone in the comics, and this could also add more diversity in the team. I think I actually may go ahead with that. Plus it is kinda cool to see couples where one has powers and their partner doesn't. Holly may not even mind it, just as long as Dawn is happy being Cissie's girlfriend.
