Description This is a 3 page story I did for a book on sequential storytelling. Chris Brunner and Mark Shultz also did the same story I did, which is why I did the project in the first place. I had seen Brunner's already at a con and was blown away. It wasn't until I read the script that I realised it was the same thing. Anyway, knowing those 2 guy's were on the project, I had to bring the heat just place in this race. I ended up taking almost a whole year to draw these 3 pages.

I am going into an epileptic shock because of the colors of this page. But i really like it, i like the many colors and the intellegent use of more graphic elements and stuff.

I bought the book recently - it's great, getting an insight to other artists thought processes definitely helped me with my own. I really liked your interpretation, style and colour usage but Schultz appeals to me also for totally different reasons. My girlfriend asked me to sitch off the light when she saw the colours, but she's sarastic like that

Thanks! I worked my ass off on these. Took nearly a year. It's part of a book on comic storytelling process called Working Methods. It's a great book worth checking out.

dude, this is awesome. Love panels 4 and 7 especially. Lots of stuff going on in each one, I can imagine how difficult it must have been to compose this...but you did an amazing job. You colors are the shit.

I'd be interested in knowing more about that book, I'm actually writing a report on that subject for the end of the school year.

It should be hitting the book stores soon. I was supposed to go into more detail about the creation of these pages, but I was going through a lot of bull at the time. John got a long phone interview out of me, so there should be lots of dope. I'm curious to see it myself.

I'll find out more about it and let you know.

Great as usual. Has an awesome animated style.

It's highly uncommon (actually Ive never come across anyone like this) when there's someone who releases work where evey piece pretty much deserves a fave!

Gonna have to fave this too.

Ha! Is this for John Lowe's book? He made his students draw this story for a class and most of us did a dreadful job (including me). Anyway, I love your neon colors and dynamic style

A year for three pages... I don't feel so bad anymore, lol. I guessing the coloring is why it took so long. Someone mentioned Bluth and I agree with influence but lookin' at some of your other stuff it's obvious your no one trick pony. What's your favorite style to work with?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Roboworks In reply to Thomas-Anderson [2007-03-26 00:54:26 +0000 UTC]

Thanks dude. I would love to draw and color loose and fast, like Denis Bodart or Gabriele Pennacchioli. It would also be nice to do something like Batman Adventures but more detailed like Akira.

Whoa, high praise! Bluth has been a huge inspiration to me over the years. I've had the fortune to pick the brains of a few people that animated for him. I got a couple of techniques off them that helped me out tremendously. Also, his use of acting and expression is really inspiring.

you should definately post more work my friend, it's all quite inspiring.
