have you ever tried to draw a friend. that helps to get the proportion and the pose right. it also helps to figure out where the light is comeing from. i'm getting confused from your picture. the contrast is ok i just wish i cold see more intense contrast to make it pop out more. you're just luck its anime cuz i would being going on with how lines dont exist in real life and there would be no good negative and positive space. but since it being anime and anime has lines it does have good negative and positive space. sorry i just usually give people what they need to hear, i believe i should help people by pointing out what they need to fix rather than to say its good if i dont mean it. that would just make me feel bad in not doing my part as being an artist and critqueing other's work.

I think this picture is very effective in the shades of black and grey that it is. She seems to have a 'don't mess' attitude about her. I'm a sucker for big eyes, they really suit her.
