I agree on Calumon. It's a shame Bandai's never bothered to do anything else with Datirimon though, mainly in regards to digivolutions. But here's an idea; why not have Datirimon be the Baby form of Damemon? Digimon Fusion seems to avoid any stages below rookie, so it seems like the perfect connection.
In regards to the background, I thought Calumon was more of a pastry guy than a candy one. Been probably a decade since I watched Tamers.
