Markie Post was an American actress born in 1950 as Marjorie Armstrong Post in California. She took on “Markie” from her childhood nickname, as no one liked her name. Her father Richard was a nuclear physicist and her mother, Marylee was a poet. Of her parents she said, “ I couldn’t be as charming as my mother or as smart as my father so I decided to be bad”. Earned her B.O.A. degree. Before she became a notable face in popular television shows she worked in games shows as a producer, card dealer and as a celeb guest when she achieved fame. She made the rounds in programs that were popular in the 80’s playing various characters in The A-Team, Barnaby Jones, Simon and Simon, Buck Rogers (oooh that outfit) and in Cheers. She found her first regular gig in the action/comedy series “The Fall Guy” before landing her most famous role as Christine Sullivan, public defender on “Night Court” She debuted in the third season and stayed for the duration for the rest of the 8 year run.
