Quite a challenge to capture this BeautyOverload (and these millions of red hairs
) in just a painting, but hope this painting honour to her great looks. : )No idea how many time it consumed. I worked on it when I was inspired, which wasn't too much lately. But: glad I finished it and happy with the result.

What resolution do you work in with these faces?
300dpi? 600dpi?

Mostly.....approx. 12x12 cm on 300 dpi.... Why?

because I wanted to try to do something like it and I would imagine
that when you get down to the level of detail you're working at
(all the little reflections in the corners of the eyes, for example)
the pixilation could get rather distracting.
OK, I get it now, it's not so much of a problem when you're doing
just the head; I'm doing full figures and for me to get the same
resolution in the face I'd have to work at around 600 dpi which
could make photoshop really slow.

It is drawn/ painted. I used a photo as a ref, put it in one window and in a new blank window I made my painted version.
