Description
In starting prep for a local con, I decided that I will need a pair of lightsaber hilts.
Having looked at several videos on Youtube, I decided to wing it with my own design based on a cheapo hilt I bought off Amazon.

I picked up some PVC pipe and end caps, as well as some electrical tape for detailing

AFter cutting the pipe to the lengths I needed, I cut angles in the ends of the two larger flange parts, followed by cutting two channels in the length for the grips

I put a wrap of electrical tape near the back end. Then I put two wraps toward the emitter end.
After adding some styrene detail strips on that end, I put another wrap of electrical tape

With those in place, I took a grinbding bit in my Dremel and added some fluting toward the back ends of the outer pieces.
Between the styrene pieces at the emitter end, I added some detail with the same bit

I primered the four sections, and then sprayed them with Krylon aluminum

With the paint dry, I painted the insets with blue metallic craft paint and then wrapped them with electrical tape to create my grips.
The outer portions were given a black wash to being out the details.
That done, I sealed them with a coat of gloss, followed by a coat of matte
