Concept sketch for the large frozen lake on the eastern side of Fort Caligo, a night black frozen plain that appears bottomless, the water heavy to tread, and should the ice break when trying to cross, there´s no use diving for survivors. For the locals it holds a greater religious connection, even if the old norse gods are no longer worshipped, the annual celebration of the northern lights and the hope of a short winter takes place on this black mirror, seemigly coming alive with the dancing lights above. The celebration of light includes equestrian games, dancing (and back in the day also blood sacrifice)
