Well, it certainly does fill someone up, but it doesn't really have any nutritional value. ^^
And this can take place before of after, since it's a different world.

I like to think she somehow managed to escape the troll by deflating, but that's what made her hungry and she's been searching ever since then.
The other way is popping... but I don't really like popping (mainly if it's permanent), So I like the first option more
