Description
St. Louis City Museum, St. Louis Missouri, May 1st 2017.
I believe this tower was salvaged from a church that was being demolished. A real life 3D jigsaw puzzle.
I last visited the museum in 2010 and promised myself I would go back on a day when it wasn't so crowded, just to take pictures. Well, I finally went again, but it was for my nephew's birthday and it was even more crowded than the last time.
Despite the untimely demise of the museums founder, Bob Cassilly, it appears that the museum is still going strong and continuing to evolve.
Many of the items in the museum were salvaged from buildings that were being demolished or other items that would otherwise now be in a landfill.
Probably the most memorable feature of the museum are the tunnels. Think "Habitrail for kids". The last time I was there, the tunnels were mostly too small for adults. Since then they have been greatly expanded and seem quite a bit less claustrophobic, but then again, I wasn't chasing after a seven year old this time.
