It looks like the wires that connect the turret to the body might restrict some movement when turning the gun left. Otherwise, nice tank.

i wish i had a uni teach me max, i turn myself from tutorials. but you'll do fine in max. even if you don't know how to use it you have an amazing grasp in modeling workflow and stuff. it will come easy for you. i went from C4D to modo to maya to max(and sticking to max)

Nicely done, looks more like a remote drone than a tank though.

I love the way you made the track. The question is, it can be animated?

Rooboy3D In reply to El-Bronco [2010-01-29 16:40:03 +0000 UTC]

yuppo the tracks and the mesh teeth are in sync and the tracks are all built together , simple skelleton and sorted

Very nice and Very interesting the detail is awesome, though the "future" look seemed to fall abit short (perhaps if you used a completely white bg, from what I've seen that seems to help alot)either way really nice try

yeah , gave that one a go but id drowned out the details so experiments are to be made

Looks pretty sweet man, love the fine detail and imagination with the gun and belt feed. A couple of minor oddities:
- the three cables that run from the back of the tank to the side of the gun don't look like they could accomodate the turret turning much before they were pulled out. Is the turret actually intended to turn? If so, these might need a longer/more versatile connection.
- The way the tracks curve up at the front and back to follow the wheels...something just doesn't look quite right. I see that the end wheels are higher than the central ones, but the curve of the track still doesn't seem to follow them tightly...but it's a minor detail.
- I personally haven't seen a tank which has drive sprockets at both the front and back...usually they just have one. But again this is a small detail which most wouldn't worry about.
- This is getting extra picky now, but have your wheels got rubber on them? Most tanks these days do, and you can pick it because the rubber is black. Yours may and you just haven't painted them (which is cool - I can't paint at all!) or they don't, which is cool too.

Overall, an excellent job. Shading/lighting/rendering looks great and the body shape is simple but not primitive, very well done.

thank you very much for the feed back , yeah the cables were somthing i realies after rendering ha ha , was gonna put rubber on the treds but i was aiming for an overall effect so i opted not to but i may do a retextured version at some point .

Thanks

This is extremely well done, I like the detail you put into the minigun and how you took the time to add the minor details that would usually get overlooked
