Quagsire is carefree and sluggish by nature. An unintelligent Pokémon, it tends to bump its head inadvertently while swimming and seems not to care. It hunts for food by leaving its mouth wide open in water and waiting for its prey to blunder in unaware. Because Quagsire does not move, it does not get very hungry and can afford to wait for its food. Quagsire lives in clean bodies of freshwater and muddy swamps. Wild Quagsire are shown to have an annual celebration at Blue Moon Falls when the moon is full. There they attempt to shoot round objects they have collected to the top of a waterfall with their attacks to see who can launch their objects the highest, with the apparent target being the moon.

About the Work!

I recently rediscovered an old notebook of mine filled with sketches of every Pokemon from the first three generations!

The Hoenn drawings are pretty bad, and as I remember drawing them using blurry pictures of the GBA sprites as references to draw them from (as these were from before the official art was revealed), that’s only to be expected. However, the other two gens fared well enough (as I had both official art and tcg art for their references) for me to pick a handful to actually turn into finished art all these years later!

So since Gold and Silver (where the heck is Crystal, though?!) are FINALLY being released on the 3DS Virtual Console, I'm going to be finishing up as many Gen II sketches as I can!

Like with Wooper, I haven't ever used a Quagsire, but I'm about 95% sure I'm going to have it be my water-type when Silver is released on the Virtual Console.
