Description 2 AM

Once again
I sit alone at 2 AM.
But this time the cigarette
is stale...
like my life.

I find
no joy in things
That I once loved, and
to those I loved,
I've said goodbye.

This taste
is putrid and burning
yet I sit here and take it,
in the hope that it
will quiet my mind.

My mind
runs like never before
I've no one I can speak to
and no one to listen,
at 2 AM.

Hehe, blame Lost-souls competition for me skimming through people's works, I'm almost beginning to feel ashamed to even be here.

I usually try to stay up for that time, I mostly love it but there are these times when it's no good, it's pure torture and still I enjoy it for what it is. On other occasions I couldn't stand it so I try to hit the bed before the night begins chill down the moods.

This poem reminds me of Matchbox 20 and their song "3 AM" It's an hour off, but the same meaning is there. Life is a piece o' crap early in the morning. No one is there for you. No one can hear you. You are alone. Very well written.
