A manga about Borealopelta - inspired by findings of its stomach contents.

In addition to fern shoots and gastroliths, paleontologists discovered evidence of charcoal in the fossilized gut of Borealopelta. This particular finding suggests that it explored areas that had been burned down by wildfires to forage for new growth.

I came up with another idea that Borealopelta might have even endured wildfires, waiting for them to burn old vegetation to expose new growth. Modern echidnas can survive through wildfires by burrowing into the ground and slowing down their metabolism breathe more easily in lower oxygen levels. Ankylosaurs have been found to have slow growth rates, suggesting possibly slow metabolisms, and may have also been able to survive through wildfires.
