Video game series. Suikoden I (1996) and II (1998) were on the Playstation, with two side games that were never released outside of Japan. Suikoden III (2001), IV (2004), and V (2006) were all on the PS2. A side-game, Suikoden Tierkreis, was released on the DS in 2008, but it has no connection to the original five games. Konami just announced a new Suikoden game, but it also appears to have no relation to the original five games.
Suikoden II is considered the best of the series, but is better appreciated by playing I beforehand. Likewise, while III is standalone, your appreciation of it will improve by playing I and II prior. IV occurs 150 years before I and has only a few links, and can almost be considered a standalone entry. V also has little to do with the first three but has the added benefit of tying II as the best game in the series. It also has the highest average cup size among its female characters, so there's that.

I've played small bits of the first one and about the first 1/4 of the third one....or was it the 4th....I dunno the one with the Silver Maiden in it.
Heh, I sometimes wonder if I should buy a PS2 again since they're so cheap and now go back and replay all the RPGs I never finished or never played hehe
