Amazing! I'd like to give it a try, just one question: How long should the thread be?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Rrkra In reply to weinrot93 [2016-03-09 00:53:30 +0000 UTC]

Whatever length you are comfortable working with, it's easy to add more thread later if it was too short.

Ooh! Very pretty!

A tutorial would be great! What colors are you thinking of trying next?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Rrkra In reply to evil0verlady [2015-12-25 20:10:04 +0000 UTC]

Albino colouring works best, I think. Gonna try a brown one, or maybe gold, not sure how that'll end up.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

evil0verlady In reply to Rrkra [2015-12-25 20:50:07 +0000 UTC]

Maybe a spotted pattern - light brown with dark brown spots?

Torathor [2015-12-17 06:25:56 +0000 UTC]

fun fact: axolotls are just immature newts. if you give them a subcutaneous dose of iodine, they mature. hence, they could be say that they refuse to grow up XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Rrkra In reply to Torathor [2015-12-18 00:37:58 +0000 UTC]

Making them mature is not a good idea for most owners though, it's very have correct conditions that will induce maturing but still allow them to be healthy
But yeah, they are just like 'noope, not growing up'

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Torathor In reply to Rrkra [2016-01-05 01:02:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, there's a lot of very good reasons why they decided not to grow up, and sticking them with iodine and expecting everything to be okay would be bad....

They're like the Peter Pan of amphibians!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Rrkra In reply to Torathor [2016-01-05 12:15:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, they seem happy enough staying in baby form for life, so why interfere

They're so cute and so very, very pretty! Great work, I really like the colour choices. Those tails are especially nice to look at!

I'm glad the colour choice worked, never thought I'd find a use for that very-pale-transparent-pink, too

I think I read an article or two on that, kinda amazing.
Makes me want to make one with a glow-in-the-dark thread, hmm...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Alteara-del-Mar In reply to Rrkra [2015-12-10 22:30:34 +0000 UTC]

you totally should! It would look like using florescent markers for the genes! Our little friends the Axoltls have taught us a LOT about wound care and healing we would never know otherwise. It's pretty darn awesome.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Rrkra In reply to Alteara-del-Mar [2015-12-11 15:09:26 +0000 UTC]

Yup, that's the effect I was thinking about
They've helped science quite a lot. Axolotls ftw!
