Hardest pokemon to redesign realistically, period. A batch of pink eggs with faces that turn into a palm tree with coconut heads and dinosaur legs? What were those crazy japanese guys smoking?

After much thinking, I finally decided this.

The "cutes" are larval exeggutor that are hatched from little eggs. They then climb up onto their momma and use their small feet to hang from the palm fronds (actually more like feathers) while growing. Once large enough, they form a hard, egg-like cocoon and fall from their mother.

These "eggs" eventually hatch into adult exeggutors. Cutes whose mothers have died or abandoned them will often join together with other cutes. For some reason, they will not cocoon unless attached to their parent.
