I don't play Overwatch, but Zenyatta along with Genji are my favourites. Not just because the way they are supposed to be played appeals to me, but also because I am a huge nerd about robotics and cybernetics as well as orthopedic and medical advances including those two fields of science. Similar to Ghost in the Shell I admire the many subtile details Blizzard already put into the character Zenyatta experiencing a sort of spiritual awakening that made him and many other machines aware of their own self and start to abandon programming and instead develop individuality. That is just something I am terribly interested in. xD (Genji I like to pull apart and think about what parts of him could be replaced by mechanical parts and how they help to keep his human parts still working)

i doubt Zenyatta is emotionless. his ability to empathise with other characters and even offer counselling and tutelage to the likes of Genji suggests that he has very high-functioning emotional perception.
