Description I tried to depict stone wall behind the rocks as a very elaborate crack but apparently it just looks like a worn out tree. Meh, oh well .

Done in watercolor on watercolor paper (I'm very vague because I don't remember what I used, woops!)

I'm sorry I thought it was a tree... ;_;

I'm trying to get into watercolours, and it's nice to see, as I'm just starting out, compositions that are much a matter of concept, and which use, sparsely, very simple shapes and colours.

Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful. I like it. It just gives me more hope at my own potential than photo-realistic watercolouring like one typically comes across. XD

Yeah, I guess you could say I tried to do kind of a realistic approach but then that would take too long and not worth the effort (this was homework for art class, hehe)

And as much as it is nice to be able to achieve a realistic look, I'm more over to expressing the idea and concept behind a painting rather than how good one can make it .

That's a point a make a lot, that in many cases interest is more important than realism, or than technique, in many cases. For example, I cannot stand Thomas Kinkade. XD
