Description V5 Ponytail is for me the most beautiful hair. With the high res opacity maps, now also tuned to the different layers, the see through is correct for now. With thanks to  timnaas.deviantart.com/art/Mei… who showed me the trick to keep the tail movement.

Currently trying to add more strains to the base of V5 Ponytail. A nice pain, since LightWave seems to destroy the UV setup causing Daz to map the whole textures wrong. Sigh...

If this wasn't a hobby I think I already would have looked for a different job... Why is software so incompatible, when it is all software and thus easier to conform than some hardware.

Very nice. Glad I was able to help!
The Ponytail is a nice hair figure with lots of options to work with.

Thanks again mate. Fitting the hair like this and keeping the tail morphs is a real treat

Embrace it and enjoy it...

I'm surprised to hear that LW would be messing up your UV's, but I don't know the app....just sounds strange. What format you exporting from DAZ?
What's your final render engine at this stage?

Hi!

I export from Daz into OBJ. The uv mapping up so far remains intact. The OBJ works in Octane and in Lightwave. However, after safing the OBJ from lightwave again, the mapping is all messed up, both in Daz and in Octane.

I've had an issue with OBJ from lightwave where instead of a decimal point a comma was used. This really messed things up, but this was related to language settings of my system. That is fixed. Also when uv mapping a native object in Lightwave, it remains working in Daz and Octane. But for some reason now with the poytail object, adding more strands, the uv no longer works.

Hmm...  Might have solved it.

Got my old 9.6 LW out of the box and did the same thing. Loading, changing some, saving in OBJ format, loading in Octane and all is okay.

There is a difference in settings when it comes to OBJ. Don't know what they all mean, but setting them the same will solve my dread...

sounds good then. Hate that interchanging is not easier, but obj's still hod their own.

Sigh...  Thought I fixed it, but no.

Going to do some google searching on this matter.
