- Batman (Year Two-Nine) -

Having made this suit after his fight with Victor Zsasz on New Years Eve, this would be Batman's suit until the death of his second Robin, Jason Todd. Later in January of year two, he would reemerge, improved and ready to take on Zsasz again, who Batman found out was going to kill Harvey Dent on orders of Don Falcone. Instead of fighting him head on, he would use the darkness to his advantage to defeat him. During the rest of year two, he would form an alliance with Harvey Dent and Detective Jim Gordon, and the three men would end the year by arresting Sal Maroni.
Years later (specifically year four of his career), he would take Dick Grayson under his wing, after Tony Zucco, hired hand of Carmine Falcone, killed his parents. This attack on the Penguin's business would lead to a gang war between Falcone and Cobblepot. This snowballed into Falcone and Maroni's last stand against the freaks of Gotham, in an attempt to take back their city. Black Mask, AKA Roman Sionis, would be drawn into this war as well, leaving Mayor Aubrey James no other choice but to place Gotham City in a state of emergency. Through blood and sweat, Commissioner Gordon, Batman and his new partner Robin, stopped the Falcone-Maroni family, arresting both men once and for all.
Over the years Batman would meet many villains who rose up to take Gotham as their own. The most dangerous however would be the Joker. The Clown Prince of Crime would kill countless civilians in his never ending reign of terror, and acquire a gang of disturbed criminals, including the woman who would become Harley Quinn. Of all the years Bruce Wayne served as Batman, none would be so terrible as his ninth year. It started with Joker paralyzing the Commissioners daughter and the then Batgirl, Barbara Gordon. Later that year in July, he would lure in Jason Todd and brutalize the boy and leaving him to die in a warehouse he set to blow. That Autumn was when Bane emerged onto the scene as well.
Hiring the best assassins to test the Bat, Batman fought off the likes of Lady Shiva, Deadshot, KGBeast, the Dark Archer and Deathstroke. By the time November came around, Batman was exhausted, scarred, and on his last legs. Bane, who had found out Batman was Bruce Wayne, broke into Wayne Manor and broke the Bat, leaving the Bat-Cave in flames.
Bane would bring the broken hero to the footsteps of GCPD headquarters, making it clear that Batman was no more, and that Gotham was now the city of Bane. Having placed bombs in key areas of Gotham City, Bane warned Mayor David Hull that if he placed the city in a state of emergency and called for the federal government to help, he would blow the bombs. For the entirety of year ten and half of year eleven, Gotham City belonged to Bane, who ran the city from the shadows while his militia acted as an outside police force, who would "protect the city in Batman's place."
