Haine lives in a rather small village maintaining a crafted flower shop (& other fabric goods). She has a large dream to explore the world but isn't allowed to because she doesn't have the confidence to go out into the world on her own & she feels obligated to stay with her parents. Haine spends time at a nearby lake to read books or simply just to rest.
Her first encounter with Seiji was when she rescued a fallen baby bird back to it's nest but lost balance Seiji comes in to break the fall. She sewed the black bandana--matching her own sash-- for Seiji as a way of thanks and friendship. In return, he gives her his coat for protection which contains a minimal amount of his magic and strength.
After protecting Seiji from the villager's assault, Seiji invites Haine to travel along with him (because he enjoys her company) giving her the opportunity to fulfill her dream. She also promises Seiji that she will take care of him and help achieve his goals as well.
