Description Carefully balancing as he off her hand onto the table, Evan looked around at the kitchen from a different vantage point.

“My parent’s house could fit on your table.”

Saara didn’t want to get into those comparisons.  At least not right away. She knew they’d come up, but shouldn’t be the center of their conversion.

“Mum talks about your mum all the time.  Do you know how they met?  I asked, but she can’t remember

“Wasn’t she was a gardener - something about when she was planting a flower garden and some kind of miscalculation.  Ever notice how silly they’d get together?”

She walked around and took a chair that seemed about the right distance away. His head was a bit below her boobs.  She was very self conscious about them now. He had to look up, but she didn’t think it’d be too bad based on how they talked as kids.

“Want some fruit or anything?”

“Maybe for lunch”

She was hungry, but suddenly remembered how it’s impolite to eat in front of little people.

“Must be nice to be your size .. I mean look at how big the fruit is.  You probably spend nothing on food, right?”

“Yeah - but I can’t peel an orange”

She remembered having to cut up a grape for him.

“How did they come up with the size used in downsizing?”

She could see him shrug his shoulders.

“My dad says they were shooting for around five inches for men.. or something like that.   It downs’t make a lot of sense to me because it’s not a round number in centimeters and the first work was done in Norway.  My guess is there are only certain reductions that work.  Bet ya didn't  know there are there other sizes..”

“Really?!”

She looked surprised.

“Yeah ..  most of us are Class B..  Fourteen point twenty one times reduction.  Class A is larger - about twice as tall.  Class C is about half as tall and D is about a third.

“I’ve only seen your size.”

“Guess it must’ve been standardized on early.  They were going to use D for space travel, but B is probably enough.  There are a few thousand As.”

“Must be hard if that’s it.”

She couldn’t imagine someone a third his size.  That’s be like a little over four centimeters.  Would she even be able to make out their faces?  Too bad it wasn’t the bigger one - Class A.  That’d be closer to her Barbies.  They’d be easier to talk to and probably a lot safer.

“The little ones’d be too small.  At least for me to talk to.”  long pause.  “Ever wish you were normal sized?”

She asked him once when they first played together years ago, but then realized it embarrassed him.  They were more mature now and he’d probably given it more thought.

“Sometimes.  More since I broke up with Cindy.  The dating pool’s way bigger for normals.”

“Ever considered mixed size dating?  Your university was mixed size right?”

“There was a table in front of each class with chairs.  And transfer pods. You had to pay a fee to be transferred from class to class.  It wasn’t much.  Used to be free, but it’d been covered under some disabilities act.  The DS community fought against it so I had to pay about fifty bucks a semester.”

“So no one mixed?”

“Some .. not me. Too shy I guess.” he paused.  “Normal girls are taller than any of the buildings where I live. That makes the pretty ones even more intimidating.”

It made her wonder why he was so excited to come and visit if she intimidated him/.  Maybe being friends as kids made it different.

“Would you have gone with me - I mean if we didn’t know each other.”

He shook his head.

“Too tall and too beautiful.”

She could feel herself blush.

“Even without the boob job?”

“Either way. Why would a normal girl ever want to go out with someone who can stand on her palm?  I mean for anything serious.”  He paused. “You probably want children, right?”

She looked up at the ceiling.  Most of her friends were talking about putting it off ’til their thirties so they could establish themselves. Saavy wasn’t comfortable with babies - not like the other girls she knew.

“Not really. A lot of us aren’t.  I think you need to  really want it.  I don’t think I do.  Is that what you think the biggest objection is?”

“That and having to take care of someone all the time.”

“Is that really a problem or is it male ego?  I’ve read about some great lesbian mixed sizers.”

She looked over to the window for awhile to compose her thoughts and wondered if he was feeling the same electricity she had.

“What if you were here for longer.  Think we could be a couple?”

“It’d probably ruin a friendship.”

“No .. seriously.  We pretty much stopped talking a year after I moved back here.  There's some good history that still makes me smile, but it’s a long time ago.”  She looked right at him.  “I’m feeling an attraction Evan.  Are you?”
