Janinaaa, I'm terribly sorry for taking so long with this boy! His reference was on my Desktop for a couple of months as WIP, and I decided to touch it only today ;w;
Anyway, it's the boy *Aarok had designed for me [link] . It's funny that whenever she draws my characters, they look menacious and creepy, and here I am with kawaii dragons xD

I know it wasn't intended, but the tail blade is actually sweet, reminds me of Dean's weapon in Purgatory a bit

Reason of why he was named so: He managed to kill a big snake as a hatchling (it's a whole story)

Backstory
When he hatched and started the hunt*, he was almost killed by a snake. His parents, when they returned and found out about it, kept him away from danger during his childhood and teen years until he ran away with his childhood friend Möden.
Elan happened to befriend even Asakurei (not without Möden's help), who often rescues him from awkward situations and even just... situations.

Personality
He seems to be sweet and spoiled, but can stand for himself. His parents taught him how to use magic and fight a bit, next he was tutored by Asakurei.
Alisignotte is well-behaved (thanks to his family), sometimes he switches to old words and phrases, which confuses any speaker.

Also he is a big cuddler. The dragon would cuddle with anyone, no matter gender or species. Such a weirdo.

Vampire dragons
This species require blood only when they:
- use magic;
- grow (especially in childhood);
- are not in their native realm (Abeiriat).
Other than that, they don't need it.

They are not harmed by sunlight (only slightly weakened), holy objects, crosses, garlic, etc. They eat the same animals as other dragons, drink the same water.

Almost all vampires are bisexual, Elan isn't an exception.

Abilities:
- good night vision;
- good hearing;
- blood magic (including instant healing upon consuming blood);
- illusion magic (including so-called 'charming');
- telepathy (all vampires are born with it, so they can communite with each other);
- mind control (sometimes, for feeding);
- summoning/speaking with vampire birds and bats.

Weaknesses:
Typical for all other dragon kinds + sunlight, which weakens them, but doesn't kill or burn.

Other facts:
- Asakurei really hates to save his scaled ass;
- Möden tends to send her bird to watch over Elan, because she cares for him a lot, more like a sister despite them not being related.

*The hunt: when the vampire dragons hatch, they have to make their first kill (a dove, a mouse, etc), therefore to claim their right to live. Newly hatched vampires are thirsty as hell and equipped with sharp fangs, claws and tail blades. Usually parents leave the eggs in abandoned places like temples, houses, caves, where no predators happen to be present during the hatching and the hunt.
