It's funny how fated soulmates became separated and opposites:
- Clearsight using her seer powers to save Pantala dragons from a hurricane, then from all bad things she could foresee, and even after her death Pantala dragons were still guarded by her - having Book of Clearsight, which consists of her future visions thousand years ahead, to guide them from harm; she is worshiped on Pantala even 2k years later for all she's done, she is their savior and religion;
- Darkstalker causing chaos for all Pyrrhian tribes, including his own, though all he wanted was a good future for his tribe [albeit at the cost of the others]; even 2k years after his initial events and disappearance he was still feared as a monster, and after he woke up... that was terrific.

Interesting how both wanted the same thing, and yet went about it in different ways! Good thing Clearsight got what she deserved, with being loved by other dragons β‘

They became quite the opposites, nice on catching how they mirrored each other, I didn't see that!

So happy to see what future awaited Clearsight in Pantala, she really deserved something good after all she suffered with Darkstalker in Phyrria...she was just a too good character to be wasted, Tui did a good job and the book isn't out yet, I really want to see if there is more in the book than just the preview we had!
I still have to read ToP and DoD since I'm waiting for the paperback of those two but I already know what happens to Darkstalker and, while I loved his story and his character, I wish he would have a different ending instead of the Pacemaker one (spoiler everywhere, it was inevitable :'D) oh well, at least with Clarsight, I can say that I am happy :>

I feel you, I am too unsatisfied with that bs of "an ending" for Darkstalker. It felt like Tui wanted to wrap the book asap and not bother with finishing things well - main characters of book 10/2nd arc completed their quest and who cares about side-characters anymore :/
At least Clearsight got something bright and didn't go to waste.

GOd you still call him that when the clearly superior option is there. I too would eat a magic strawberry to have such a name.
This was the last thing I enjoyed in the series, the Darkstalker book. Even if there felt like there was a chapter or two missing toward the middle

What do you mean by Peacemaker? Darkstalker conquered all tribes and created a dark dystopia! I WISH
His book is still the top for me among all WoF books :c

I love how the two were sort of mirrored in their separate paths! Also I find it pretty amusing that Darkstalker WANTED to be remembered and exist forever, but in fact he is forgotten aside from being a nightmareish legend 2000 years from when he lived, whereas Clearsight got to live a full life AND she's worshipped 2000 years after her lifetime. Additionally, it's pretty interesting that they both have 'sacred texts' - Clearsight has her book of visions and Darkstalker has his scroll.Β
It's so sad that they were fated soulmates but fate did not tip in the favor of them, but I think Tui did map out their futures in a very interesting and telling way!Β
Anyway, remarkable picture! I love the symmbolism!Β

Tui did a good job on their fates, indeed! I just wish Darkstalker didn't go down the way he did, I absolutely loved his character for what he was, as you don't see such well written villains too often. It's also nice to know that Clearsight didn't simply "vanish", though I don't think she was okay with all worshiping during her life, haha.Β
