This is the first image in the series called "Consumption" which depicts how the human id is inherently selfish and the act of self indulgence is at the cost of others... "Original Sin" references the genesis story of evil being brought into the world when Eve bites into the forbidden fruit... While Eve indulges herself in tasting the forbidden fruit the rest of us are given the burden of sin... This image has already recieved 6th place in the International Adobe Digital Imaging Competition out of thousands of entries on www.photoworkshop.com and also has recieved a merit award and was exhibited in the International Digital Imaging Exhibition (Sony) in San Diego earlier this year (2006).Stock Photography - Ryan Hartsell

you definitely have talent, what I would say is that for me... this may sound cliche, but nature is the truest source of my inspiration... studying the light, shadows, shapes and colors is how I really learn. While drawing straight from comics and others' art can be a great way to learn, it's a terrible way to develop a unique voice and style as an original artist. I made a break from this in high school and never looked back. No matter how inaccurate my drawing of anatomy was or whatever... didn't matter, that's how I saw it... and that is what gives you your own style... EMBRACE THE FLAWS

Thanks for replying, I really appreciate it. I used to get mad when people didn't like my art but I've learned that I really should, as you said, embrace the flaws. Thank you for your advice, I'll be sure to follow it.
