Wow. I have never spent so long on one piece before. The final project had like, 20 layers, I think.Okay. My entry for 's contest. They said you could have an anthro pokemon in it's natural environment, or a battle. So I did a battle, in a natural environment...
My two favourite flying pokemon. Ever. They have yet to match either Charizard or Pidgeot. Charizard is getting ready for a Fire Punch, while Pidgeot is in the final stages of Brave Bird.
I have never put so much effort into a background before. Or into the textures of any part of the picture. I am quite pleased with how it came out!

sweet, bravo, you can tell this had a lot of layers. just of the most innocuous little details such as the light reflections on the end and from the sun.

It did have an insane number of layers... I didn't check, but definately more than I'd ever used anymore. Especially if you count that each pokemon had at least ten layers to itself. Probably more than 50 in total.
Hmm... winning could go either way. If that Charizard knows Thunderpunch too, Pidgeot's in trouble, but first he'd have to catch her!

Ah! I love it, its sweet! Charizard looks kinda funny to me for some reason, something in the face i think, Piegioto (Sorry about spelling) looks great though! I love it, its a true blue battle! Yay!

I rarely draw guys, I was having issues with his face... but I was happy enough with everything else that I just left it. And Pidgeot was fun, she came out almost exactly how I wanted her to!

I'm so glad you like it! I had to redraw Pidgeot's pose about 5 times to get it right, and even then, I used photoshop to make some minor adjustments. I'm glad it was worth it!
