jeezus, heart-wrenching but plain awesome. The contrast between the concepts is what makes this picture. Straight to faves, I say!

Thanks! Its strange how drawing what is painful for me brought me tranquility. It's almost like...if Prowl has to die, he must die under MY TERMS. hehe (I just bought a KREO Prowl, I'm so obsessed...)

Thanks! I kinda surprised myself that I would draw a dead Prowl pic...but I think I twisted it the right way so that it is enjoyable.

I really like this one. The very stark contrast between Prowl's death and the almost childlike innocence of the cherry blossoms is really nice.

I think you did a really good job with drawing Prowl all damaged.
Black and white looks good it shows the sense of death just like how Optimus Prime died.
It's hard to see the most favourite die and yet still remain among us at heart/spark.

Yes death among TFs...we take it for granted when TV shows don't allow characters to die. But with the deaths in the TF movie, it really made us have to grow up and accept things.

I almost cried when I saw this. Almost. Was this close. *squeezes thumb and forefinger together*
Again, nothing I like better than the stark contrast of black and white. And I love the soft pink touches to this; it really adds to the image of tranquility. Not so much a "feel" of tranquility, though...I'm not really getting that vibe. I actually feel quite disturbed...like something huge just went down and I missed the entire thing. Hmm, not exactly the expected reaction, huh?
Very lovely piece no matter what vibe I get from it. XD

Ahh I see where you're coming from. I feel it too actually. Kinda like this picture is "candy coated" cuz it doesn't show the destruction and death in full.
Like if the camera panned, it would be like one dreary low note playing...dahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

I totally know what you mean. I think you and I have some real similarities in the way our brains were wired.
I actually sometimes want to do things that explore more of the darker side of things.
But then I wonder what effect that has on other people when they see it? I don't want to create certain feelings in other people unless it's for a good purpose...

convallaria In reply to ryuzo [2009-06-02 17:09:02 +0000 UTC]
Exploring the *darker side* of art can be intimidating. Most of my darker ideas never make it to paper, or past the sketch stageβ¦
One of the exceptions is Wallflower; [link] and this picture was more disturbing and gory in the early sketches.
I suppose I worry about what people would think or say if they saw the darker side of my artβ¦I donβt want to offend anyoneβ¦

ryuzo In reply to convallaria [2009-06-04 03:34:11 +0000 UTC]
Yeah offending someone or creating certain feelings in them is not what I want...yet I still want to draw "dark" things. I think I'm gonna make another dA account...

I can't believe I did this to Prowl...I used to draw my brothers' favorite autobots dead when I got mad at them, hehe. But for me to do it to my own guy...
...I guess it is a learning experience to do such a thing.
Anyway, glad you like it!
And...
