There is even Czech movie inspired by it, it's really traditional and popular in here

I don't think I have an ultimate favourite, but I mostly prefer stories (or generally information)
that involve mythical creatures. I've always loved the Banshee and Valkyrie. My family also used to
scare me with Baba Yaga when I was younger xD .. (Mainly slavic tales, but I also have a thing for
Norse mythology) ♥

Haha, yes I think our parents scared us with Baba Yaga (we call her Ježibaba here ) as well, though I don't remember being really afraid of her. But I was always terrified of Polednice (there is very famous Czech poem about her) and I think I'm still bit scared of her ><
I've never read anything proper with Banshee or Valkyrie, I'm not familiar with these creatures for too long because they aren't too well know here. But we have some creatures whose are quite similar like Meluzína or Morana, I guess

Sorry for the late reply, I was a bit ill (still am actually)
Something tells me that I've heard of Polednice before but I'm not sure. The name just rings a bell.
Meluzina and Morana sound interesting though (did some quick searches on wiki).
I have quite some books about mythology, but I guess they only mention the most famous
(/English) ones. I still haven't had the time to read through all of them, but now that the subject is
back in my head, I might as well check them out one of these days.

I'm glad it does :3 Polednice is really very famous in here
We have quite a few books with Czech legends and fairy tales at home and I always want to read them but somehow can never make myself to actually do so. But I really should! DX
