At the time, I felt this picture just wasn't working. At all! Some bits were too dark, others too light... then the background decided to get all smudgy and annoying despite my best efforts to keep it smooth. As for his ear... I made it up, as I couldn't see it properly in the ref pic.

Baaaaasically, ( ) what I'm trying to say is, I've found this drawing extremely frustrating, nay, impossible to complete.

But that isn't the subject's fault. It's David Garrett! A very amazing violinist. If you don't believe me, go listen to his music. Goooooo.

Pleeeeease don't dare critique, I may have to stab you if you do. ;D I mean that in the nicest way. Thanks.

I do agree with Guen, neck needs more shading and the mouth needs work but otherwise I think it is flawless. He is such an awesome man to draw

Yep. Well, Guen mentioned something about me needing to shade the neck a bit more, which I agree with. You are right about the mouth - it does look a little weird. Something to improve in the future, eh?

Practice makes perfect... or thereabouts.

hahaha, heres the link to how i learnt it [link] it's DA's help and FAQ in the html formating area, and it's under the subheading acronym that you want to look at for this one. ohh, and it took me AGES to get it right, because you need to use the = and " in it also, down to the smallest detail for it to work... keep that in mind i hope you do it, i've only seen one other person with this sig.

We are our own worst critics dear, because we have seen the process of the project and know the thoughts we have had in the process of its completion.

What I am trying to say is that this is amazing! I love how you were able to convey the emotion of the moment and his love for music in this. Emotion is not an easy thing to draw and you nailed it.

I only know of him because Barnes & Noble was playing his "Smooth Criminal" one day. I couldn't get the awesomeness out of my head and scurried over to Amazon to get the CD.

I think he's British. I think... Anyway, I remember being jealous that he wasn't American.
